We have received confirmation that the International Trade Commission’s (ITC) final injury determination vote on Quartz Surface Products from China is set for next Tuesday, June 11, 2019. The time has not yet been posted. The ITC will also vote on “critical circumstances” (retroactive duties) on June 11.
Our Coalition is working until the last minute to remind ITC Commissioners about the real-world impact of their upcoming vote. Members of Congress continue to weigh in on the issue. Read the latest letters sent to the ITC from Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ). Senator Sinema wrote, “These duties threaten the operations of U.S. quartz fabricators…which employ thousands of Americans across the country.”
It’s not too late to make your voice heard. Ask your legislators to join their colleagues in standing with American quartz workers. Use the form on our website to write to your Member of Congress to ask for their support.
Update on Turkey and India Investigations
Our Coalition has been fighting back against Cambria as the company now pursues antidumping and countervailing duties on quartz products from Turkey and countervailing duties on quartz products from India. Coalition legal counsel from Hogan Lovells and several Coalition members participated in a recent ITC Staff Conference on the issue. We have uploaded to the Coalition website post-conference briefs filed by Coalition members that provide the ITC additional information and demonstrate that the Cambria has not been injured as a result of imports from these two countries.
Thank you for your continued support. Follow us on Twitter @QuartzWorkers for updates on both cases.
